Castor Captures Lead Early to Defeat Saline Bobcats Varsity

Saline Bobcats Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 15-2 los to Castor on Saturday.  Castor scored on a double by #44 and a double by #25 in the first inning.  The Saline Bobcats Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Castor, giving up 15 runs.

In the first inning, Castor got their offense started.  Castor scored two runs when #44 doubled.  Castor scored five runs in the third inning.  #52, #5, #1, #16, and #7 all drove in runs in the frame.  #1 was on the pitcher’s mound for Castor.  The fireballer allowed three hits and two runs over four innings, striking out four.

Shawn Staggs toed the rubber for Saline Bobcats Varsity.  Staggs lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and seven runs while striking out four and walking one.  Jacob Jones and Will Dison entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and two-thirds innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Staggs led Saline Bobcats Varsity with two hits in two at bats.  Logan Parker led Saline Bobcats Varsity with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.

Castor tallied 11 hits.  #44, #52, and #25 all managed multiple hits for Castor.  #44 went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Castor in hits.  Castor was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.  #1 had the most chances in the field with one.
