
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for parts of Bienville Parish which will be in effect until early Sunday afternoon. This flood warning also affects Webster and Bossier parishes.
Forecasters are predicting daily rain showers for our area for at least the next two weeks, with daily rain chances ranging from 24% to 49%.
Flooding is due to the rising waters on Bayou Dorcheat near Dixie Inn. At 8:00 a.m. yesterday, June 1, the stage was 14.3 feet. Flood stage is 14 feet.
Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
- Do not drive cars through flooded areas.
- Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
- Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. - A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
