Among the items discussed in the regular meeting of the Bienville Parish School Board, Ms. Kamithia Penton, Director of Federal Programs, announced that the Bienville Parish School Board has been awarded $10,049,689.00 in the Achieve! Grant.  These funds will allow the School Board to continue to provide in-person instruction while learning safely, assessing and addressing academic needs, learning loss, and accelerating learning among students who are disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic.  The funds will be used to identify and serve student groups, which include underrepresented student groups, including each major racial and ethnic group, children from low-income families, children with disabilities, English Learners, migrant students, students experiencing homelessness, and youth in foster care.

School Board President Donald Calloway pointed out that the funding could only be spent as specified in the grant proposal.
