Last night in its regular monthly meeting, the School Board honored our parish’s teachers of the year in the elementary division, junior high division and high school division. Angela Taylor, Director of Child Welfare and Attendance, who heads the program, said, “We have exceptional teachers, faculty and staff within our district.”
Please see the video for the awards presentation.
Vicki Pickett, a representative from the Bienville Educational Foundation Vicki Pickett, presented the parish winners an additional reward for their hard work. Mrs. Pickett said, “I think the teachers, this year, are very deserving of any awards that they might garner from their hard work.”
Following the presentation of awards, the board took a short recess for pictures.
The board reconvened to continue with the agenda. (this is on the second video below)
Item number 4 of the agenda was to “Consider cooperative endeavor agreement with Bienville Parish Sheriff’s Department.” Superintendent William Wysinger said that he had hoped to have the agreement for this board meeting but they still have some minor details to go over. This agreement will be on the agenda for January 2022, the next regular monthly meeting. Mr. Wysinger said, “As of right now, the resource officers are still at the schools and they’re going to continue to be there. Tonight, we won’t take any action on this agenda item. We have a list of duties and responsibilities, so we’re just kind of fine tuning those.”
