Historic Arcadia Caboose Revitalization Project Underway

On Sunday, Eddie Holmes, Clerk of Court, got to try his hand at painting a the historical caboose which is located by the depot in downtown Arcadia.

Holmes said, “Mr. Chris Davidson brought the caboose to town in the 80s.  I remember getting to play in it as a kid.  Since then, vandals have taken their toll.”

Things are looking better for the historic caboose.  Holmes is working with Arcadia’s Mayor O’Landis Millican, “and hopefully some volunteers,” Holmes added, to have it restored for public visits once again.

Holmes said, “our depot and caboose are both historic and remain one of the very few original depots still existing in the north Louisiana corridor.”

If you want to contribute to the restoration project financially or manually, please contact Eddie Holmes at the Clerk of Court’s office at  (318) 263-2123.
