School Performance Scores Showed Most Schools Suffered During Pandemic-Plagued School Year

On Friday, the Louisiana Department of Education released the 2021 School Performance Scores.  The majority of schools in the state showed a drop in school performance scores in the pandemic-plagued 2020-21 school year.  State Superintendent of Education Cade Brumley said, “The data is clear, having students in school, face-to-face with teachers is essential.” 

Only two schools in the parish, Arcadia High School and Ringgold high School, showed improved scores from 2019.  Arcadia High School posted on their Facebook page, “CONGRATULATIONS to the faculty, staff, and students of Arcadia High School! School Performance Scores (SPS) were released [Friday], and Arcadia increased by 4.4 points from 77.3 to 81.7! While this means we are still rated as a “B”, we are excited about our growth towards an “A”!  Arcadia High School showed the most growth in the parish.
