The Bienville Parish Police Jury held its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday. During the meeting, the police jury elected Jerry Bates as its president and Darryl Ryder as its vice-president for 2022.
Mr. Bates’s first task as the new president was to recognize the leadership and hard work of Bill Sims who presided over the police jury in 2021.
The police jury moved to create a committee to oversee all aspects of bringing broadband internet throughout the parish. Clerk of Court Eddie Holmes spoke to the police jury about a digital organizing or broadband committee, which will be comprised of local businesses, private citizens, and a digital navigator who overseas the committee.
