On Sunday, January 16, Saline’s Micah Mathews competed in his first professional motocross race, the Louisiana Motocross Winter Series at Desoto Motorsport Park in Mansfield. The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has a point system and Mr. Mathews was moved up to Pro Class in December due to his winning the AMA Texas State Championship in College Sportsman and 2nd in the state in 450 B.
It was the first race in the Louisiana Motocross Winter Series at Desoto Motorsport Park in Mansfield. Mr. Mathews placed 1st in 450 Pro and won a cash prize. He also placed 1st in College Sportsman.
