On Sunday, January 30, Miracle Match held its “Half Marathon – The Captain” in Waco, Texas.
Miracle Match described the half marathon to runners: “Our kick ass course starts at the suspension bridge in downtown Waco and runs straight into Cameron Park, turning left into the city’s award winning zoo. Wave to the rhinos, roar at the tigers, envy the sloths… Pop out of the zoo and head for a ‘gentle’ (yes, I am lying to you) roll through Methodist Children’s Home and then through the gem of Waco, Cameron Park, the 2nd largest city park in our nation. Then we add to your experience by running thru the McLennan Community College campus. Thank you to our Highlanders! Looping back, you learn the lesson that what goes up, must come down… Follow the Cameron Park roads all the way back to the flat river section. Your finishing miles will run alongside the Brazos River so smile for the cameras as you complete your race.”
73-year-old Saline marathon runner Donald Brown won first in his age group, which Miracle Match defined on their website as being “70 to dead.”
Congratulations, Mr. Brown!!! We look forward to news of your upcoming races.
