On Thursday, the Castor Tigers played Saline Bobcats and lost, 4-6.
In the first inning, Castor Tigers got their offense started when Ethan Latour singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the third inning, Saline Bobcats tied things up at two when Landon Horsefallen singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Saline pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth, Shawn Staggs grounded out, scoring one run and Ethan Roberts doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Staggs got the start for Saline Bobcats. Staggs lasted four and a third innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out nine.
Caleb Shirley led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Castor Tigers. The bulldog surrendered six runs on six hits over six innings, striking out four.
Will Dison, Jacob Jones, Horsefallen, Drew Golden, Roberts and Staggs all had one hit to lead Saline Bobcats.
Drake Freeman led Castor Tigers with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases. Castor Tigers was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Jason Perry made the most plays with four.
