Multiple Parish Residents Place in 2022 Dam Melon 5K Race

On Saturday, July 9, runners from Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas participated in the 2022 Dam Melon Run 5K in Saline.  Several Bienville Parish runners competed in the race such as:

  • Nash Warren of Castor – 1st Place – Male 14 and Under
  • Stephanie Johnson of Castor – 1st Place – Female 25-29
  • Don Brown of Saline – 1st Place – Legend Male
  • Micah Matthews of Saline – 1st Place – Male 20-24
  • Eli Johnson of Saline – 2nd Place – Male 20-24
  • Amanda Roberson of Arcadia – 2nd Place – Female 45-49
  • John Warren of Castor – 1st Place – Male 40-44
  • Colby Hough of Saline – 2nd Place – Male 30-34
  • Ray Roberson of Arcadia – 3rd Place – Male 50-54
  • Amy Warren of Castor – 3rd Place – Female 40-44
  • Scout Johnson of Saline – 3rd Place – Male 14 and Under
  • Collette Watts of Saline – 2nd Place – Female 55-59
  • Caity Johnson of Saline – 1st Place – Female 20-24
  • Bria Robinson of Saline – 2nd Place – Female 25-29
  • Jennifer Hawkins of Saline – 4th Place – Female 40-44
  • Jeffery Johnson of Saline – 2nd Place – Male 45-49
  • Amanda Johnson of Saline – 5th Place – Female 40-44
  • William Dison of Castor – 1st Place – Male 15-19
  • Sheana Dillon (Jonesboro address but she lives in Bienville Parish) – 1st Place – Female 35-39

Saline marathon runner Don Brown, whom the Journal regularly reports on, earned first place in Legend Male with a time of 00:27:38.93, a pace of 8:55 per mile, and a speed of 6.7 miles per hour.  Overall, Mr. Brown came in 20th place out of 69 runners.
