Saline’s Dollar General Store to Open Next Week

By Brad Dison

A large team of Dollar General employees are working long hours to open the Dollar General Store before Santa comes to town.  For the past several days, the store has been a hive of activity as trucks delivered shelving, inventory, and coolers for the new 10,700 square foot store.   Although the store appeared to be in total disarray (see pictures), the workers were progressing well and had transformed one area from empty shelving to being fully stocked within the few minutes I was there.  My eyes were drawn to a large sign which boasted “Over 2000 Items at a Dollar or Less.”

I spoke with the store’s manager, Saline native Linda Williamson, who said the store will be opening one day next week.  She could not give an exact date but explained that the store will open once workers finish stocking all of the shelves.  As I was leaving the parking lot, another delivery truck was arriving with more inventory.
