Saline Marathon Runner finishes first in age group

Saline marathon runner Don Brown just celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, January 25. 

Just the day before celebrations began, Brown participated in the Vermilion River Run 10-miler in Lafayette, LA where he finished in first place in the 70-79 age division. He finished 99 out of the overall 239 runners who participated and 77 out of 139 in the male division. 

“I will be running a 15k in Baton Rouge next weekend,” said Brown. 

The annual Mardi Gras Mambo will kick-off their 1-mile Fun Run Saturday, February 4 at 8 a.m. followed by the 10k and 15k which will begin at 8:30 a.m.
