Timothy D. Williams was recently inducted into the Louisiana 4-H Hall of Fame.
The Louisiana 4-H Youth Development Program along with the LSU AgCenter made the announcement and shared the list of inductees for 2023 on Wednesday, February 1.
“I would like to express my heartfelt delight to all that enabled me to achieve this honor of becoming Bienville Parish 2023 Hall of Fame Inductee for Louisiana 4-H,” said Williams. “It has been my honor to work side by side with some great people to foster and develop the minds and programs of the youth here in Bienville Parish and throughout Louisiana. Again, thanks to Louisiana 4-H for this recognition, it motivates me to continue to work hard.”
Nominations were received from parishes across the state with a total of 12 receiving this honor. They will be recognizing all the inductees at a special ceremony to be held at 4-H Camp Grant Walker Educational Center later in the fall.
Williams represents Bienville Parish well and was selected this past May as a Louisiana 4-H Volunteer Leader and the 2022 4-H National Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer award winner.
The Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer Award is given to an individual who has spent 10 or more years as a 4‑H volunteer while the Volunteer of the Year Award is given to an individual who has volunteered for 4‑H less than 10 years.
Williams also serves as the District 5 council member for the Town of Arcadia, Coordinator of College and Career Initiatives and District Test Coordinator at the Bienville Parish School Board. He is also a member of the NAACP and will continue his role in the 4-H Foundation.
