On May 3rd, the Bienville Parish Library System lifted the mask requirement, and all branches, Castor, Ringgold, Saline, and the Arcadia-Main Library are open to fully serve the public. All books, magazines, DVDs, Audio CDs are available for check-out. Public-use computers will now be available to our patrons as are the public computers in the children’s reading area. Civic groups and organizations, as well as literary clubs, are welcome to schedule their gatherings in our public meeting areas. We are fully operational and ready to serve our patrons and communities!

This decision follows the Louisiana Governor’s Office, and the Louisiana Department of Health, (LDH) that announced on April 28, 2021, the face-covering mask mandate had been lifted. Local businesses were given the liberty to set their own guidelines and the Bienville Parish Library administration gave the branch managers the good news that all library branches could fully open to serve their communities. This news came after months of sustained improvement in COVID hospitalizations and an increase in the supply and availability of COVID-19 vaccines.

When you visit your neighborhood Bienville Parish Library, you do not have to wear a mask unless you wish to do so. We will continue to provide hand sanitizer stations and encourage you to socially distance as necessary as an added precaution.

The Bienville Parish Library Administrative staff will continue to closely monitor and follow the recommendations of the Louisiana Department of Health and are greatly encouraged by the news coming from federal and state health departments.

To our immune-compromised patrons and those patrons with health issues that prevent them from visiting the library, we will continue with curbside services. The adult outreach services will continue servicing their homebound patrons with requested reading materials.
