Seven Members of Governor’s Staff Tested Positive for Covid in Last Two Weeks

On Wednesday, the governor’s office disclosed that another staff member has tested positive for Covid-19.  This is the seventh staff member to test positive for the virus.

The newest statement released by the governor’s office stated:  “A member of the Governor’s Office has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee has been working offsite, and no other employees were exposed. The employee is at home in isolation, per guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Louisiana Department of Health.

“The Governor’s office has a high rate of fully vaccinated staff and practices all CDC and LDH-recommended COVID mitigation measures, including indoor masking, quarantine and isolation, and COVID testing after exposure.””

On July 30, the governor’s office disclosed that two staff member had tested positive.  These were the first staffers reported to have contracted Covid-19.  The governor’s office released statements on August 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 11th that one staffer had tested positive for the virus on each of those days.
