On Monday night, August 30, Bienville Parish District 6’s Captain Toni Rodgers and District 7’s Chief Chase Walsworth, left for a deployment to South Louisiana to assist with recovery efforts following Hurricane Ida.
They arrived at the Addis (West of Baton Rouge) staging area where they joined many fire department personnel from around the country. Some of the departments at that particular staging area included Cook County Illinois; Austin, TX; Wylie, TX; Urban Search and Rescue from Arkansas, Dallas; Montgomery County, TX; and Kyle, TX to name a few.
After arriving at 5:00 a.m. this morning, they received their assignment to proceed to Kenner, LA where reportedly, there had been 21 structure fires the previous day with no water supply available.
Fireman Danny Carr left the following day to assist with recovery. If you know of other people from the parish who are aiding in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, please let the Journal know by emailing BPJNewsLA@gmail.com.
Thank you, Toni, Chase, and Danny, for your service!!!
