Yesterday, I spoke with Erin Buchanan , Public Information Officer for the Shreveport-Bossier District of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, in reference to the LA 507 road closure.
The road was closed on Monday, January 10, 2022 to allow the contractor to perform a cross drain replacement which is part of an ongoing construction project to provide a mill and asphalt overlay on a section of LA 514 and LA 507 east of US 371. The projected reopening date was Monday, January 24, 2022.
Ms. Buchanan explained that the crew is behind primarily due to inclement weather along with difficulties getting materials. The entire project may take until April to complete but not this particular road closure. She expects the road to reopen this Saturday, weather permitting.
Following our conversation, Ms. Buchanan posted on the DOTD website: (UPDATE 1/25/2022): DOTD advises motorists that this road closure on LA 507 in Red River Parish has been extended to Saturday, January 29, 2022, weather permitting. We appreciate the public’s patience.
