Today is Last Day to Qualify for March Election

Qualifying for the March 26 Municipal Primary election began Wednesday, January 26.  Today is the last day to qualify.  Those interested should visite the Clerk of Court inside the Bienville Parish Courthouse today from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. 

Qualifying in Bienville Parish is for the following:

  • Bryceland – mayor and three aldermen
  • Lucky – chief of police

So far, the following candidates have qualified:

  • Bryceland
    • Mayor: Aundria Sue Loe
    • Aldermen: (3 to be elected): Tanya Mayeux
  • Lucky
    • Police Chief: Chase Walsworth

All candidates for local municipal races in Bienville Parish must qualify with the clerk of court. Candidates may qualify for office by paying a qualifying fee ($40 fee for no party or $80 for republican or democrat. Cash, money order or certified check only.), or by filing a nominating petition. 

Pursuant to Act 312 of the 2020 Regular Session, qualifying candidates will be required to present a valid Louisiana driver’s license or Louisiana identification card. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, candidates are encouraged to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.
