
On March 14, 1922, Sheriff John Curry and Jim Boddie left Arcadia en route to the penitentiary in Baton Rouge with five prisoners. Those transferred included the following:
- W.O. Daniel, sentenced to 1 year on a charge of concubinage;
- Gertrude Martin, co-offender with W.O. Daniel, received a sentence of 3 months;
- Pompey Jiles, Louis Dick, and Fred Region, who pled guilty to a charge of hog stealing, received a sentence of 1 year each “in the pen.”
