The Bienville Parish School Board issued the following statement: “Due to impending weather conditions, all Bienville Parish Schools will close today, April 13, 2022, at 12:30 pm.  Classes will resume tomorrow, April 14th.”

According to the Weather Channel, thunderstorms are possible after 1 pm. Expect damaging winds, large hail and possibly a tornado with some storms.

Tornado Watch:  Tornadoes are possible in and near the area. 

Tornado Warning: A tornado has been sighted or indicated by weather radar. There is imminent danger to life and property.

In case of a Tornado Warning:

• Go to a safe shelter immediately, such as a safe room, basement, storm cellar or a small interior room on the lowest level of a sturdy building.
• Stay away from windows, doors, and outside walls.
• Do not go under an overpass or bridge. You’re safer in a low, flat location.
• Watch out for flying debris that can cause injury or death.
• Use your arms to protect your head and neck.
• If you can’t stay at home, make plans to go to a public shelter.
