Road closures: There are no official road closures at this time, but the roads remain very bad with black ice being the main cause of concern. LADOTD reminds the public that the recent winter storm continues to post potential hazards, even with significant melting in many areas occurring during the day today.
Throughout this winter weather event, DOTD has strongly urged motorists to only travel if absolutely necessary, and that continues to be the message into tonight.
School closures: ALL BIENVILLE PARISH SCHOOLS WILL REMAIN CLOSED FOR THURSDAY, JAN. 18 along with all extracurricular activities.
Gibsland Headstart will remain closed.
Thumbs Up and 2 Thumbs Up will remain closed.
Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College (NLTCC) will be closed with only virtual classes continuing at this time.
Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) will remain closed.
Business closures:
All Bienville Parish Library Branches will remain closed on Thursday.
Bienville Parish Council on Aging will remain closed for the remainder of the week.
GBT of Gibsland will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Arcadia Branch will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Bienville Parish Clerk of Court will re-open on Thursday.
