Active Recovery has been in business for 14 years as an IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program), of which we have three locations in Minden, Bossier and Shreveport.
CEO and Clinical Director of Active Recover Terri Schaffner has begun the process of starting a Women’s Residential program for domestic violence, addiction and co-occurring disorders, all of which are rampant in our area.
“I moved to 120 Blue Pond in Ringgold in March and began the arduous process of developing a 28-35 day program for women on 30 acres of beautiful lakefront property,” said Schaffner.
Active Recovery will house up to 15 females at a time, with LPC, CIT’s and LAC’s onsite, along with nursing staff around the clock.
Schaffner said, “Active Recovery Retreat is just that; a welcome reprieve from the struggles of addiction and domestic abuse, with group therapy, trauma counseling, spiritual growth and development, money management, life skills and gardening, along with kayaking and boating, volleyball and…. chickens!”
They have a non-profit, ACTIVE RECOVERY FOUNDATION, Inc. which is in good standing as a 501-c-3 and in need of in-kind gifts and funding for tax purposes.
