CASA is this year’s Bryceland Hog-A-Gras recipient

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) was the recipient of this year’s Bryceland Hog-A-Gras, held held at CMB Land Co. in Bryceland.

Held Friday, Jan. 31, the 8th Annual Hog-A-Gras saw a total of 574 hogs, trapped 274, thermal 291, and dogs nine. The total cash payout was $1,550. With the funds raised, CASA received $11,980, which will be spent on the foster children they serve in the three-parish area.

Deanna Curtis, community coordinator, thanked Hunter Brown, his team and all the sponsors for choosing CASA as the recipient.

Overall winners were as follows.

Critter Control: Team Boogeyman with 32 critters
Small Hog: Team Porkaholics with three pounds
Big Sow: Team Porkaholics with 250 pounds
Big Boar: Team Porkaholics with 234 pounds
Longest Cutters: Team Boats & Hoes with 3-3/16
Grand Champions: Team Porkaholics with 200 hogs

Side Pot Winners were as follows.

Team Boogeyman: $125 payout
Team Porkaholics: $125 payout

Team Porkaholics won first place with a total of 200 hogs. Team Boogeyman won second place with 197 hogs. Team Liberty hill won third place with 46 hogs. Team Reaper won fourth place with 32 hogs, and Team Phatt Ham Slammers won fifth place with 22 hogs.
