Two people arrested for simple burglary, drug charges

JAMESTOWN – Two people face simple burglary charges after they were caught with what appeared to be stolen collectible coins.

Arrested were Christopher Cassel, 35, of Converse, was charged with a violation of probation/parole, illegal possession of stolen things (felony), simple burglary of an immovable structure (felony), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine (felony), and possession or distribution of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor). Tonya Kinsey, 42, of Princeton, was arrested and charged with simple burglary of an immovable structure (felony), possession of marijuana over 14 grams (first offense) (misdemeanor), possession of methamphetamine less than 28 grams (felony), illegal possession of stolen things (felony), and possession or distribution of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor).

The two were arrested on Monday, March 3, around lunchtime when Bienville Parish sheriff’s deputies responded to a Bailiff Road home.

“While deputies were on scene, a vehicle matching the description given came back to the scene,” Captain Micah Crawford said. “When they came back up to the deputies, deputies determined the two matched the description given and during a search of their persons, they discovered the reported missing property in their pockets.”

Crawford said as Cassel and Kinsey were placed under arrest, an additional search was conducted, revealing approximately 12 grams of methamphetamine, around 39 grams of marijuana, and electric scales commonly used to weigh narcotics. A search of Kinsey revealed roughly five grams of suspected methamphetamine and 15 grams of marijuana as well as various items alleged to be drug paraphernalia.
Total bond for Cassel, a former resident of Ringgold, was set at $105,000, and total bond for Kinsey was also set at $105,000.
