The Louisiana Department of Education recently highlighted gains across the state in school systems via the 2026 LEAP scores. The 2026 results don’t just recognize the highest scoring school systems; they also highlight the systems that made the biggest strides. “Top Growing” systems are those with the largest year-over-year increase in their overall Mastery+ rate (grades 3-12), and this year’s top mover improved by a full 6 points.

While Bienville Parish wasn’t the top mover in the state, it still saw 3 points of growth, placing it at no. 4 in the state in improvement and growth.

This kind of growth shows that real, meaningful progress is happening in classrooms across the state no matter where a system started. Congratulations to every system pushing forward and moving the needle for Louisiana students.
