Castor’s First Annual Freedom Fest a HUGE Success

On Saturday afternoon, July 3, 2021, Castor held its First Annual Freedom Fest.

The weather was great.  The temperature was in the upper 80s but the low humidity made it feel much cooler than it was.

People at Freedom Fest participated in bingo, corn hole, mechanical bull riding, and enjoyed a wide variety of foods provided by local churches.  Congratulations to Melissa Reese of Castor. She is the winner of the 2021 Freedom Fest Treasure Hunt.  Ms. Reese learned at the Freedom Fest that the Treasure Hunt prize was $800.

Pine Beetle Festival Committee President Melanie Jordan said, “Mayor Vicki Picket and I would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all that you all did to make our 2021 Freedom Fest an epic success. We could not have done this without the hard work, donations, and community support that we received.  The festival was awesome. From the Treasure Hunt, the Bingo games and prizes, the food provided from our area churches, the attendance from our community and surrounding areas to the phenomenal fireworks show, it was event we will always remember! Thank you again and God Bless America.
