Castor Tigers Varsity Sets The Stage For Victory With Early Lead Over Dodson

An early lead helped Castor Tigers Varsity defeat Dodson 11-5 on Friday. Castor Tigers Varsity scored on a triple by Drake Freeman in the first inning, a groundout by Ethan Latour in the first inning, and a single by Christian Conly in the second inning.

Castor Tigers Varsity knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the first inning, when Latour grounded out, scoring one run.

Castor Tigers Varsity pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Conly singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

Castor Tigers Varsity notched five runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Conly, a fielder’s choice by Caleb Shirley, and a double by Latour.

Shirley toed the rubber for Castor Tigers Varsity. The righty surrendered five runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out seven.

#27 was on the pitcher’s mound for Dodson. The pitcher went three innings, allowing nine runs on eight hits and striking out four. #7 threw three innings in relief.

Castor Tigers Varsity tallied 15 hits on the day. Freeman, Brenden Cox, Conly, Braydon Young, and Latour all collected multiple hits for Castor Tigers Varsity. Freeman went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Castor Tigers Varsity in hits. Castor Tigers Varsity stole ten bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Freeman led the way with two.

Dodson totaled seven hits in the game. #27 and #9 each managed multiple hits for Dodson.
